The Return of the Elves

Its been weeks after the rotation, and newer deck archetype are slowly making their way in the standard format. One of this archetype is the Mono Green Elves decks which won the 5k SCG tournaments a few weeks ago. The Elves are finally back after years of not having a tier one deck in standards. Having two Elves Lord and one Legendary Elf this deck is not only fun to play but can give opponents a hard time.

The Elves had a special part in my heart, because this are the first race that I used when I started playing Magic 10 years ago. However, I stopped playing for years and just got back earlier this year. At first I wanted to build a new Elf deck but the current expansion doesn’t have enough Elf cards to build a deck around it. Then here comes Scars of Mirrodin, one card, in particular, made a huge impact in the success of this deck, and that card is Ezuri the Renagade Leader. This Legendary Elf, Joraga Warcaller, and the Elvish Archdruid makes the other Elves in the battlefield huge enough that they will over power your opponents creatures at will. The elves are back and now its time to play Mono Green again.
